How Much Will It Cost To Install An EV Charger?
Expect to pay from $900 for standard labour (installation) only. This does not include the cost of the charger.
What does a standard EV charger install include?
A standard EV charger installation includes the following:
•RCBO (Residual Current Operated Circuit Breaker) Type A protection for the pre-existing switchboard
•A 15-meter single-phase cable
•Testing and certification of your EV charger
•Support for your charger setup and functionality after installation
What's not included in a standard EV charger install?
The following is NOT included:
•Any custom work beyond the standard scope of work as described above. This includes additional work (including electrical and construction to support the wiring and charger). This will be billed directly to the customer
•Any work order changes once work has commenced
•Any materials supplied by the installer
•Additional visits to the premises (if the homeowner is out or otherwise unavailable at the time of the appointment)
Can you install my charger to work with solar panels?
Yes, we can install chargers to work with solar panels. We suggest contacting the car manufacturer or conducting online research to find the ideal number of panels that need to be used to charge your car efficiently.
How will my EV charger work with off peak?
In NSW we can connect your electric car charger to your off peak meter.
But this means you can only charge overnight. It can cost as little as $10 for a full charge. There are advantages and disadvantages. We suggest you give us a call and we can shed more light on off peak charging and if it's suitable for your needs.
How long does a home EV charger installation
take?
Standard installation up to 4 hours.
Non standard installation anywhere up to 2 days
Time is dependent on your switchboard set up, and the area behind the walls for wiring.
